The Book is Out!

Ten years, give or take a few, to write a novel. William Bell entered my mind slowly, and I really can’t say how he evolved into a full-blown novel, helping three fascinating individuals with their life issues. What is not lost on me is that he is truly a kindred spirit. I have been a leadership coach for all of those years, and I can’t help but think that my inspiration with regard to the book was completely aligned with my life purpose: Help others be their best self. William offers a creative and fictional version of those efforts, and my sincere hope is that readers catch a glimpse of how this all might positively apply to their own lives.

I also must mention my mom. She was an amazing woman. While others perhaps gently rolled their eyes when I enthusiastically announced that “I am writing a novel!!!!” she connected with the concept, not to mention connecting with William. She was the first to offer very positive affirmations for a unique literary endeavor.

And that is also important to mention. Coming up with a genre for this novel has been problematic. Seriously — anyone who can confidently offer a distinct genre is most welcome to offer it up. But my hope is that this book defies typical literary genres and speaks gently to those who are trying to make a change in life. Perhaps William can be helpful in achieving life goals.

I hope to offer more insights with regard to William Bell in this blog, but want to conclude this entry by saying how absolutely geeked I am to get this novel published. Talk about life purpose: I have wanted to publish a novel since I was very young. And now I have.
